Howhas your education prepared you for your career?- My education has prepared me for agentle transition from school to the workplace by providing me with the skillsnecessary to succeed. The challenging courses from FIU have taught meexceptional critical-thinking skills and how to solve complex problems. On my internship, I strengthen my research andanalytical skills by developing useful strategies with a team. This experiencealso helped to develop my communication skills since I was required to workwith a team. 2.
Areyou a team player?- I tend to do well in a team settingbecause I can relate to others well and understand what it takes to get the jobdone. I can help delegate tasks, compromise, and fulfill any role on the teamthat is needed. I am flexible in working independently or on a team, as needed bythe task at hand.3. Haveyou ever had a conflict with a boss or professor? How was it resolved?- I have not had any issues with my bossor any of my professors, but I did have a conflict with one of my coworkers.One day. I noticed he got some office supplies from the storage and put them inhis bag. I approached him and asked if he had asked permission to take themhome and he said it was fine, that he did that all the time and nobody evernoticed.
His response left me feeling uneasy because he was stealing from thecompany. I tried talking him out of it because he could lose his job but he didnot seem to care. The next day, I told my supervisor what was going on becauseI was worried about my coworker’s behavior. She handled the issue from there. 4. Whatis your greatest weakness?- I am a perfectionist; I like to makesure that my work is perfect, so I tend to spend a little too much timechecking it. However, I’ve come to a good balance by setting up a system toensure everything is done the first time correctly and in a timely manner.

IfI were to ask your professors to describe you, what would they say?- I recently asked my public speakingprofessor to write a recommendation, and she mentioned my interpersonal skills,attention to detail, and intellectual curiosity as keys to my success in herclass. I also think she would say I am quite funny!6. Whatqualities do you feel a successful manager should have?- A good manager is able to put himself inhis employee’s shoes.
A person who actually knows the job inside rather thanlooking at it from a view above and will let you know what you are doing wrongfrom the beginning. A successful manager also possesses great communicationskills and will be open for feedback from his employees.
