Areview of the fundamental issues for structure and application in 3- axis CNCmachine has been carried out in this work. four major issues, tool pathgeneration, geometric position, feed rate and simulation, have been considered.Numerous researches in the last decade have resulted in significant improvementin these aspects. Among different evaluation measures, quality and efficiencyof machining are primarily used to study and compare these different developedmethods.A. Intool path generation, a varied and complex 3D shapes or Single PointIncremental Forming(SPIF) method have hugely lead to the improved surfacequality and reduced machining time. while can be attained by moving the toolalong a correctly designed path.
Various portion techniques such as the nonlinearoptimization method, which also leads to decreased machining time and reducedinvestment cost, have also been studied.B. Developmentof a virtual machining software forgeometric error of 3-axis machining has significantly improved machiningproductivity and quality. Methods for the geometric error identification focuson either improvement of the computational efficiency of the existing methodsor development of new methods. In addition, a portable laser measurement systemXL-80 with a dedicated software driver plays an important role to achieve ahigh quality surface machining.
C. Avirtual machining system that optimizes NC programs methods for feed rate of 3-axis machining has been improved the efficiency of cutting process. One of thecritical issues is the Complicated NURBS interpolation algorithms are performedin real time, the large number of backtracking process may cause time –consuming computations. Therefore, using an off-line feed rate schedulingmethod for CNC machine. The essential of developed methods combine differenttechniques with the curvature matching principle to identify the largestpossible cutter for finishing of a surface area.
D. In simulation by application, thedevelopment of a smart virtual vertical three-axis machining center simulator methodhas tremendously lead to the Dynamic toolpath movement, solid cuttingsimulation, tool exchange, collision detection, and coolant effect. Variousportion techniques such as EMC2 version and the simulator of a commoncommercial CAM software (Edge CAM) method, which also leads to capture picturesin specific moments during machining processes, at the same points at differentdepths, have also been studied.
