After four years of undergraduate studies in Instrumentationand Control Engineering, I can assure that it was a good decision to choose this field of engineering as my career optionas it has released the most matter-of-fact approach to approach the industry related complications by me. Thisalso played a vital role in my growth as it has also motivated me to opt for mastersand contribute to the field through purposeful research. I sincerely believe thatyour esteemed University will give me abundant opportunityto fortify my creative energies and to harness my technical skills. My decision to major in instrumentation andcontrol engineering is a direct resultof my desire to contribute to the development of industrial systems in my country because undergraduateeducation study have taught me that engineering is as much as an art as it is ascience. . Engineeringstudy is to convey information and knowledge as well as it lays emphasis on theoverall growth of the individual.
Duringmy under graduation in Instrumentation and Control Engineering at Sardar VallabhbhaiPatel Institute of Technology, Vasad, Gujarat, besides expanding the range of my knowledge, it hasgiven me valuable insight into practical aspects of study. It gave me theknowledge of fundamentals of instrumentation and control especially in thefield Control System Design, Power Electronics, Electronic Devices and Circuit,Digital Logic Circuit, Industrial Measurement,Circuits & Network , Analog signal processing and Biomedicalinstrumentation . I am fully familiarized with all these subjects. I amfamiliar with programming languages like MATLAB & Simulink, LABVIEW &Siemens’ software for PLC (Programmable Logic Controller), SCADA & ControlBuilder F for Distributed Control System as well as the new upcoming Prostheticconcept in biomedical field. As a part ofcourse curriculum, I have worked on various projects related to my subjects. Asone of my project in second year I used 8051 Microcontroller for interfacing DCmotor both clockwise and counterclockwise directions.
My design engineeringproject was based on solar sensors.It was focused to increase the efficiency ofsolar panels using Maximum Power Point Tracking Theory. My third year projectwas on PLC based in which forward and reverse 3 phase motor control had beendone using PLC.
My final year project is on ‘Controlling of Wireless GestureControlled Robotic Arm’ .In this project we have used Atmega-16 microcontroller ,wireless radio frequency module, servomotors,power-supply circuit and mechanical assembly of arm.In this project wematch the data on the receiver side and the transmitted data from the operatingside via a radio frequency module supporting a range of up to 100 meters. Apart fromacademics activities in school & college , I was also active in outdoor activities. I got 3rd rankin project presentation in 7th semester.
I also got 1strank in seminar presentation in my class .I have also served as an event volunteer in thenational level technical symposium ‘PRAKARSH’ and in VISION(Intra collegetechnical symposium) consistently from second year till the last year organizedat my college. In my second year I was the event co-ordinator in the event called ‘Robotics’.In the third year I was the eventhead of the same the event.In the fnal year also I was in the advisorycommittee of the ‘Robotics’ event. I often read the leading journals about poweranddigital systems. This Electronic System Engineering covers almost every subfieldssuch as Power Electronics, Embedded System, Digital Electronics, SignalProcessing which are same as my undergraduate subjects which develops an interest in me to take up my career for M.Engin “Electronic System Engineering”.
My course work on related subjects, atundergraduate level had just enhanced my keen for this subject and thereby Ihave decided to pursue my M.Eng Electronic System Engineering . My other areas ofinterest are Control Sytem, Programmeable Logic Controller,Distributed ControllSystem, Biomedical Instruments and Automation. Sharing about my family, my father is a ProductionManager in a company called SAFECO HYGIENE PVT LTD located in Manjusar GIDC inGujarat and my mother is a house wife .My parents are hardworking, dedicatedand ethical. They have introduced me with same virtues of integrity and ethics.They have always encouraged me to fulfill my dreams and life goals.
They are backboneof my life. Thus, armed with the much-valued consentand guidance from my HOD and professors,discussion with my seniors and careful study of the web pages of yourUniversity, I am convinced that my academic career will receive themuch-required magnification enabling me to pursue considerable research and excel at it.Ihave gone through your publications and website very carefully and I concludedthat with we have similarity in the field of interest, so University of Regina will provide a perfect environment to focusall my resources towards M.
Eng program. Not only highreputation attract me, but also does the subjects and the on-going researchesby renowned faculties.I want to enhance my skills in this field under yourtutelage. Myundergraduate curriculum has enabled me to clear my basic fundamentals; and nowI want to increase the attained knowledge through a Master’s course at the Universityof Regina at CANADA.The main reason by which I have took the decision to pursue graduate studies in CANADAis the fast emerging global scenario in this Electronic System Engineering field and also the quality of the education. I think pursuing this degree fromCANADA will help me in the industry and bring me back to my country where I canwork for better automation and instrumentation facilities to improve theinfrastructure and communication. As a student my experience say that good facilities can make a difference in astudent’s life and learning exposure.
