As person who have spent 6 years working in healthcare, I amthoroughly aware and a true believer that pharmacy has the ability to changepeople’s lives.
Whether it is at the level of the community pharmacist offeringthe best advice possible to common illnesses, to high-level research into drugsthat could cure a range of chronic or life-threatening diseases, the role ofthe pharmacist cannot be overestimated. As a motivated and hardworkingindividual, with a desire to understand the fascinating human body along with ajoy of helping other people, I strongly believe that studying pharmacy willgive me one of the final and most important step towards a rewarding career inthe field of pharmacy. My passion for the subjects of biology, chemistry, and thehuman body has strengthened my decision to study pharmacy. This is due to thefact that they have provided me with a wide range of skills and knowledgerequired for a degree in pharmacy. The practical and theoretical sides ofChemistry have given me a clear understanding of the organic, inorganic andphysical aspects of the subject.
The biology aspect has given me a basicunderstanding of the human body and how it responds to certain diseases andenvironments around us. Lastly, Math has provided me with the skills to analyze andsolve problems. I have also gained the skill of producing written andillustrated results for a mathematical problem. My interest and enthusiasm for pharmacy have led me workedalongside staff on research project as to efficacy of given albuterol metereddose inhaler in lieu of albuterol nebulizer to children who came into theemergency room with severe asthma symptoms. I feel like I have handled myresponsibility well and have learned a lot from this project.
