Over the past twenty years, the death of Princess Diana has been interpreted in various ways. Numerous conspiracy theories have been created by the public to express their thoughts about this tragic incident. Due to many factors surrounding her life, the death of Princess Diana was a deviated murder plot.Princess Diana of Wales died on August 31, 1997, after sustaining catastrophic injuries in a car crash. Before the incident there were many problems with Princess Diana’s personal life. It’s no secret that Princess Diana had personal problems, but she was a public figure and positive influence to most people of England. Princess Diana was a patron for multiple charities and organizations. Despite having astounding achievements under her belt, she couldn’t run away from her public problems with Charles, Prince of Wales.
Prince Charles and Princess Diana of Wales married each other on July 29, 1981. She gave birth to her first son, William, on June 21, 1982. She gave birth to her second child, Harry, on September 15, 1984. After Harry’s birth, rumors of trouble in Charles and Diana’s marriage surfaced (Owings 56).
Their marriage began to crumble and their difficulties were reported by the media. Both the Prince and Princess had affairs with other acquaintances. Prince Charles had an affair with Camilla Parker Bowles and neglected Diana of love and affection. Princess Diana eventually had an affair with James Hewitt. This certainly wasn’t the way to settle marital disputes. As a result, the couple decided to divorce.
After the bitter divorce with Charles, Diana began a relationship with Dodi al-Fayed. A frequent theory is that their public relationship cost both of them their lives (McDermott). It was rumored that Dodi al-Fayed was planning to propose to Princess Diana.
That would be the number one reason why foul play could’ve been involved in the events that happened that night. It has also been indicated that the Royal Family didn’t approve of Dodi al-Fayed since he was an Egyptian Muslim. If Princess Diana and Dodi al-Fayed would’ve gotten married that would’ve made al-Fayed, the stepfather of Prince William and Prince Harry.
That would’ve been an upset to the Royals (McDermott). Another theory suggested that Princess Diana was pregnant. This is proposed often because the public found it oddly suspicious that she was embalmed before an autopsy could’ve been performed. The procedure made it impossible for her blood to be tested for pregnancy.
Mohammed al-Fayed, Dodi’s father, even declared that Princess Diana called him the night of the crash about her pregnancy. If news broke out about her pregnancy, negative attention would’ve surrounded the Royal Family about Diana’s successful attempt to start a new family.It is also theorized that Henri Paul plotted the murder. As the theory proposes, Henri Paul, the driver of the Mercedes-Benz that crashed with Princess Diana inside, was paid by the MI6 to assassinate Dodi al-Fayed and Princess Diana. Henri Paul was the manager of security at the Ritz Hotel, the hotel the couple stayed in the night of the fatal car crash. Paul was also a MI6 informant. It was widely spread that there was an extra $250,000 dollars in his bank account after his death. Multiple sources claimed that the Ml6 gave him that money for performing the task.
The car he had been driving might’ve been tampered with, and this explains the high speed and loss of direction. This last conjecture suggests that the paparazzi deliberately made the crash occur. The paparazzi and media had no respect for Princess Diana. Her personal life was always recorded by the media and she had no privacy.
The paparazzi even chased the Mercedes-Benz the night of the crash. They intentionally wanted the crash to happen and wanted the people in the car to end up deceased.In summation, it is strongly speculated that Princess Diana was murdered for numerous reasons. Even though the facts about her mysterious death aren’t certain, there are some strong validations to support these theories. With all these conspiracy theories still floating around, this case will never be solved.
