Architecture a subject. Having the desire to understand

Architecture captivates me both as an art and a subject. Having the desire to understand and explore how scientific technology can be utilized to enhance the performance of building structures in their social and environmental conditions, the field of architecture immensely brings out the divisions of my identity. This allows me to engage well creatively and scientifically with the use of artistic and practical dimensions of design.Through the reading of books, articles and blogs on architecture I have invoked my inner feeling on design and planning; I always marvel and wonder how architects meet planning demands of the ever-evolving planet. Activities on energy developments have revealed […]

Accidents Happen

Accidents Happen Introduction On July 17, 1981, a tragedy occurred in a hotel located in Kansas City. This accident left several people dead and several others injured. The residents of the city were affected either directly or indirectly. The authorities and professionals such as architectures, surveyors and engineers were left trying to find out why such a horrible thing could have occurred. I’m up bow tie. I sit back down

I’m sitting inthe lobby of a small and very quaint – 19th century is my guess – hotelin London, with a cold glass of lemonade that a waitress has just made me. I’vebeen told Denys Lasdun prefers to meet here, he doesn’t like large hotels withtoo many people as it makes him feel uneasy. As I’m waiting patiently on a wellsat upon but attractive sofa, for Denys Lasdun to arrive. Denys Lasdun is aboutto be interviewed by me, a 23-year-old shy, architecture student, about to meetand interview one of the most highly regarded architects of our time about postwar housing, […]

The style was named after its creator Andrea Palladio. It is in particular associated with the phase of British Isles architecture from the 18th century, when there was a revival of interest in Palladio. Palladio’s famous treatise Quattro Libri dell’Architettura (The Four Books of Architecture) has had a significant impact on the architecture of the western world. Palladio’s works are recognised by their obvious features based on symmetry, simple lines, and proportion that inspired by classical architecture from ancient […]

“Holy therefore silenced in 532 AD by Justinian.

“Holy Wisdom”- that is what the most splendid and famous Byzantine church ever built means from Greek. This monument has been used as a temple dedicated to each of the two most dominant religions, but in present day it is an art museum. The great church is built on thefoundations of previous churches from the Byzantine era, as well as a pagan temple. Hagia Sophia itself is quite intricate and grand in its appearance, but the most spectacular part of it is the dome, measured thirty two meters in diameter. Moreover, the enormous church is beautiful because of the materials that it is made up of- multicolored marble blocks and stones (white, pink, green, yellow), columns, and mosaics ( noble metals, glass, etc. ). The museum is positioned where Constantinople previously stood- in Istanbul, the biggest and most populated […]

Ismael, Jivryl J. STEM – ANDLAUERJanuary 26, 2018A mathematical branch that deals with the study of a certain system of calculating and how things change is called calculus. The word “calculus” came from Latin that literally means ‘small pebbles’. Dynamics the Sun is ever-changing with time. This

Dynamics of Existence According to the Vedic psyche Time is seen as cyclic. The belief in reincarnation, the cycle of birth, death and rebirth, the unending chain of construction, destruction and reconstruction, all refute the theory of recurrence of time. Despite its cyclic nature, time is not static, the concept of change is inevitably tied in with the concept of time. The past and future are separate realms which are connected by the continuity of time. Moreover, in this continuity of time change occurs in the form of of subsequent set of events. This frequency of time is the only constant which brings […]
