Anxiety- Physical: I would assess for rapid heartbeat, blushing, rapid and shallow breathing, shortness of breath, headache, dizziness, nausea, stomach pains, vomiting, diarrhea, muscle aches and pains, restlessness, and tremors- Psychological: I would assess for irritability, decreased concentration and memory, unrealistic or excessive fear and worry, confusion, anger, sleep disturbance, vivid dreams, nervousness-Behavioral: I would assess for phobic behavior and increased use of alcohol and other drugs3. Eating Disorders- Physical: I would assess for weight loss or weight fluctuations, sensitivity to cold, and changes in or loss of periods-Psychological: I would assess for preoccupation with food, body shape, and weight, extreme body dissatisfaction, distorted body image, low self-esteem, sensitivity to comments or criticism -Behavioral: I would assess for dieting, binge eating, exercise patterns, deliberate vomiting or laxative use4.
PsychosisI would assess for changes in emotion, motivation, appetite, energy level, thinking and perception, and behavior5. Substance use and substance use disordersI would assess for withdrawal symptoms and the ability to concentrate6. Attention deficit and disruptive behavior disordersI would assess for signs of difficulty paying attention to details, easily distracted, difficulty finishing school work, or appearing not to listen or follow instruction.
