Elle Décor is one of the world’s
learning magazine brands in terms of design, décor and interior decorating. It
is published in 26 different countries and has approximately 8.5 million
readers around the world. Elle Décor mainly targets women who are fashion and
style-conscious with the passion to turn their dream homes into reality. These
women within the ages of early thirties to late fifties who are modern,
educated and sophisticated and are also fond of interior furnishings and who appreciate
the value of luxurious taste.
There are approximately 35
pages dedicated to ads overall throughout the magazine. There are 12 ads that
appear before the table of contents and the rest are spread out throughout the
rest of the magazine. There are also approximately

simple yet classy tone with its use of a very clear, simple layout and soft
color tones. Its tone is professional, yet intriguing. This magazine uses
uncoated, matte paper. The paper is very thin, therefore sometimes revealing a

come in this form.

Art Directors are very crucial
towards the production of magazines. Their eye for detail and design helps
determine how to best go from an idea to a visually appealing piece of content.
Magazine art directors determine who is featured in the magazine, what the
magazine conveys and where it is placed. They control what images, art and
design elements are going to be used in the magazine as well as create the
whole layout/look of each page, whether it includes a campaign, spread, advertisement,
interview or even mood boards.
Without the involvement of art
directions, magazines would have no flavor or personalities. The role of an art
director is very critical to the end result of the magazine. An art director’s
job is to supervise the design staff as well as evaluate and approve of designs,
photography, artwork or graphics that were created by other staff members. Art
directors act as the middle man between the different creative departments as
their job is to coordinate all activities shared by the artistic departments.
Art directors are expected to

designer and graphic designer. It is important for the art director to
