Ever since i first operated computers, I have been mesmerized and intrigued by the solutions offered and the way they operate. Keeping up with the latest advances in technologies always evoked great interest and enthusiasm in me. The speed of developments in the computerized field taking place over the past few year amazes me and it is quite evident that there is still vast development to come in the future. I believe that a graduate degree in this field would hugely widen my horizon and add fuel to my interest in all the things which are technology driven, alongside leading me to the path of a fulfilling and enjoyable future. My very first experience with programming started right in the vacations of 8th standard, where i experimented with the basics of html. At the same time being captivated, as by just changing the smallest line in my code, would result in a completely different structure of the webpage.
As i completed it, my innerself wanted to learn how to make a bit more pleasing, this steered me into learning CSS. My hobby developed into a passion, I improved my coding ability by learning a few more simple languages such as C and Java in my spare time. These interests lead me into the field of computer science. After that I wrote my eamcet entrance exam for getting into an undergrad college. By achieving a commendable rank in the eamcet entrance exam I was given the opportunity to choose Computer Science and Engineering course at Muffakham Jah College Of Engineering and Technology; one of the top colleges affiliated to the prestigious Osmania university.Through the course of my four-year Undergrad studies, my enthusiasm and interest for the subjects in assisted me to secure first class with distinction with an aggregate of 76.07% in the final two years, which helped me stand among the top 8% of 120 students. I achieved a comprehensive perspective of scientific discipline, with a specific interest in Object Oriented Programming.
Other than the theoretical subjects, the lab programs such as C/C++ , Java and PL/SQL acted as a catalyst to my desire of understanding to the maximum. I was able to to put into practice of what i have learnt in my theoretical classes, which is the reason why i was able to achieve 92% in my programming practical labs. I believe that theoretical work alone is of negligible use unless and until it is accompanied by practical knowledge. As my undergraduate course progressed through time, my interest to learn more was quite visible in the form of academic growth. Software Engineering, Compiler Construction, Computer Networks and Database Management System were some of the other subjects that grabbed my attention in my pre-final year. My keen interest in those subjects helped me into receiving 75.45 % in my pre final year.
However in my final year Information Security, Artificial Intelligence, and Distributed Systems were the areas I found most fascinating. Beside my undergraduation program, I developed my programming skills by finding real life applications to be used in daily life, for instance i started learning android development, which lead me into making an android application which was a substitute for the college website that could be used to access any information ranging from college history to the latest updates about our college. This project was awarded third prize in the Innovatia Panoply Event conducted annually in my college. It was highly appreciated by my HOD Dr. Moiz.
During my final year, i worked with a team of two others to develop a major project ” Dynamic auditing for cloud data”, this was based up on java and how JDBC/ODBC works. This project greatly nourished my conceptual knowledge through its practical implementation, it also allowed me to increase my proficiency through integrating Java JBDC technology and Servlets. In addition to developing my java skills, I also gained knowledge about writing database client that connects to a relational databases to execute SQL statements and then to process the extracted result.Concurrently, active participation in a number of extracurricular activities made sure that of the all round development of my personality. On various occasions i’ve attended seminars, workshops and even participated twice in the National Level Hackathon conducted in our college. I was even a member of IEEE Computer Society student body of our college from my second year of Undergraduation where i was given a chance implementing the latest technologies in their workshops.
Because of my coding skills and the projects i have done in the past, I was offered to become the webmaster of my student branch in the final year, where i was responsible for hosting and updating the IEEE website of our college, apart from that i even hosted sites for IEEE events which took place. I wish to expand my comprehension of Computer Science and use this knowledge to further my chances for a prosperous career in Software. Canadian education system is Internationally known for providing the best education. Pursuing graduation in Canada will me not only provide a greater gamut of professional skills but also a much wider global perspective. Having a strong foundation in Computer Science field because of a very thorough undergraduate program made me sure to achieve masters degree from a university where my thirst of curiosity is met and where i will be given an opportunity to work with the latest technologies. Therefore, I am applying to join your Master of applied computing program Windsor commencing in the fall of 2018. University of windsor caught my attention due the fact that the courses offered in the program particularly advanced software engineering and advanced database were in my area of interest in my Undergraduate studies as well.
The in-depth course Advanced computing concepts taught by taught by Dr. Luis Rueda will allow me to acquire a clear understanding of the computers. Being taught those subjects by the experienced faculty of university of windsor will help me attain my career goals and lead me to a successful career. I am optimistic that my exposure to such manoeuvre would quite augment my knowledge base and add immense value in enabling me to attain my professional goals.
I would be grateful if I’m presented with the opportunity of pursuing my graduate studies at University of Windsor. With respect to my future goals, i intend to take what i learnt in Canada and apply it to the Computer Science Field in my native country.
