Ibiza is well known for its gorgeous sandy beaches, hidden coves and crystal clear waters. The island has over 50 beaches to choose from, so which are the best and most beautiful? We put together a list of the most “iconic” , beautiful and popular beaches on the island based on the opinions of locals, travellers and newspaper articles.

 Las Salinas Probably the most emblematic beach. It’s a long stretch of fine sand surrounded by a nature reserve with dunes, salt flats and crystalline waters. Several beach bars, popular for its atmosphere and frequently visited by celebrities. Towards evening, dancers parade along the shore promoting the island’s famous nightlife.  Es Cavallet On the opposite side of Las Salinas, this natural beautiful beach is a long stretch of white sand and dunes, turquoise waters combined with the dark blue of the open sea. However, it is usually less crowded and ideal for those seeking tranquility.

If you will go to the Ibiza, you should absolutely visit this spectacular beach.Sa CaletaA combination of rocks and sandy beach, surrounded by red cliffs that give this place its special character… The surroundings are also well worth: by a short walk you can visit the Phoenician archeological site and a fishing village. At the entrance of the beach is one of the best fish restaurants in Ibiza. Atlantis A trip down a ravine and a long slope of sand dunes, leads to what one day hippies started to call Atlantis, due to the peculiar landscape of the old quarry and figures carved into the sandstone. An overwhelming place that invites to enjoy a splash in its crystal clear waters and pools formed by the carved rocks. Cala d’Hort This wonderful beach is one of the Ibiza’s most popular places for a good holiday. There are plenty of restaurants to eat delicious and fresh fish. The beach is approximately 150 meters long and 20 meters wide.

Boating is also very popular activity in here. If you will go to abroad soon, this place is quite ideal for you!   Playa d’en BossaAs long as 3 km, this is the largest beach of Ibiza and might be the most famous. Its very popular among young people and in recent years it has become the symbol of the Ibizan party scene, with plenty of beach and night clubs. There are also a variety of bars, restaurants and shops as well as all kinds of services and facilities. TalamancaLong beach of find sand peppered with restaurants and beach bars, in a sheltered bay with calm, shallow waters. Its proximity to the city, the promenade and two famous clubs, makes this beach very popular into dusk and for dining. During the day its relatively quiet, ideal for learning windsurf or light sail.

Cala Tarida The longest and widest sandy beach on the west coast, characterized by the emerald green waters, the small islets near its shore and the beautiful sunsets… Surrounded by luxury resorts, restaurants and beach bars, with a wide range of activities and water sports available, making it specially popular for families with kids. Cala Conta    Surrounded by beautiful landscapes, dunes and rocky cliffs, with golden coarse sand and shallow crystal waters… It is a rather short stretch of beach, but with many rockier coves on both sides. Cala Conta is very popular for its stunning sunsets every night and might be the busiest beach of Ibiza in the high season.

Punta Galera One of the most impressive places to behold… This bay is surrounded by rock formations protruding from the cliffs and form flat terraces at different levels, ideal for laying down in the sun. Apart from the tranquility, this place offers a deep underwater scenery for diving, jumps to the water and magnificent sunsets.Cala Saladeta    Definitely one of the most heavenly places, a fact that makes it a very busy place at times during the months of July and August… Arriving at Cala Salada, a path through the stretch of a rocky coastline leads to this little gem of fine white sand, which has one of the most turquoise and crystal clear waters of the island.Cala Nova Cala Nova is one of the best beaches in the world that can really provide conditions good enough to surf. A relatively long golden sand beach, with a rocky landscape and green hill surroundings… Although the water is shallow, it has a tendency to strong currents. There are several restaurants and a beach club, but a relaxed atmosphere prevails.

Cala Boix At the edge of a cliff with a unusual dark sand for Ibiza and its shallow waters, we can find possibly the most secluded beach on the island. In comparison this beach is little frequented and you can expect a quiet family atmosphere, with three restaurants on the top and a snack bar on the beach. Aguas Blancas  Dominated by striking rocky cliffs, this beach is a long stretch of dark golden sand. With mostly shallow waters, its ideal for swimming and exploring the rocks, coves and caves of this virgin northeastern coast of Ibiza. Visited by all kinds of people and especially popular among hippies, nudists and beach tennis lovers. Benirras One of the most popular for the hippie ritual at Sundays, when the sun goes down to beat of hundreds of drums, and also for its wild natural landscape. The beach is medium sized, with granulated sand and fisherman huts on the rocks at both sides.
