My pet is a dog names Shiro. Shiro is an adorable small dog with white fur and a few brown and black spots on it. Shiro is a pure shih tzu breed and he has fluffy ears and big black eyes that remind me of shiny buttons. I first got shiro when i was in 6th grade.
It was a day after my exams had gotten over. The first time i saw him i was thrilled, he saw me and ran towards me. I could hear the sound of his little paws on the floor.
I picked him up and he smelled the same as newborn babies do when they are brought home. I instantly fell in love with him and i could tell he liked me too. The bond that developed there has since then continued unbroken. The most attractive quality about shiro is that he is friendly to everyone, especially children. They love his soft fur and playful attitude. Sometimes i feel like my dog can feel what we feel because whenever he sees me sad or upset he always brings me the things that cheer him up the most when he’s low: his toys, and it does cheer me up.
I believe shiro to be a little unique because like most dogs he’s not very fond of bones instead, he loves vegetables and bacon. Every once a month is his spa day, it’s his favorite day. We take him to a dog spa called ‘Red Paws’ the place smells like a mix of fruity shampoos and dog food.
There he gets a hot oil massage followed by a bubble bath and blow-dry. On his birthday they even put a bow in his hair. One of the most important days for me is shiro’s birthday, it reminds me of the day i met him. On his birthday everyone of our family members get him a gift and my dad bakes him a sugar-free cake. Cake is like a forbidden fruit for him,he loves it. Except for cake shiro loves tomatoes and beetroot. My favorite way to spend time with my dog is to take him out for walks or to the park.
He loves going to the park and playing with his other dog friends.They’re all bigger than him but he manages. Sometimes he also tries to go on the slides but he’s too scared so he tries to get me to go with him by tugging on my shirt. Shiro being the intelligent dog he is, has memorised the way back home from the park and sometimes goes on his on and i have to chase him.
It’s like a game for him. Shiro never fails to entertain me weather its’ chasing his own tail for hours or trying to learn new tricks. The one thing he hates is being left alone at home, we try our best not to but sometimes we can’t take him with us. He gets very frustrated when he’s alone and ruins things like socks or cushions. He always gets in trouble after but for him it’s worth it. Shiro’s favorite thing to do in the winter’s is to lay around in the sun all day or roll in grass. He also collect different rocks from outside and always puts them in his bed, it’s like his hobby.
On school days shiro is always the one to wake me up in the morning even bore the alarm and the first one to greet me after i come back home from school. After school whenever im watching tv he comes and sits on my lap and sometimes falls asleep. It’s my favorite thing he does.Shiro’s presence adds a lot of meaning to my life and because of him i am a more responsible and mature person than i was before
