The NIST define the cloudcomputing as “a model for enabling convenient, on-demand network access to ashared pool of configurable computing resources (e.
g., networks, servers,storage, applications, and services) that can be rapidly provisioned andreleased with minimal management effort or service provider interaction”2. Cloudcomputing as any network system has security challenge; it can suffer fromnetwork attacks such as Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks. Some ofthese attacks resolved by some tools such as Software Defined Network (SDN) andsome tools in cloud computing environment3,4. SDN in networkarchitecture dedicated in 2011 by Open network Foundation (ONF) providesmanagement the network devices by application called network controller5,6.

2 ResearchProblemDetectingand preventing DDoS attacks are one of the main issues in cloud computingenvironments. Adding SDN to cloud computing environment can enhance managing networktraffic in cloud computing. The problem is whether using SDN-based cloudcomputing and available detecting mechanisms which detecting mechanism has goodcapability and performance can face DDoS attacks.
