Thisresearch article has given me the strength to continue my research onself-efficacy further. I really like this article as it is almost similar tothe research paper that I am embarking currently. When I was reading it, manyinspirations revealed that I am going on the right path and providing hugesuccess with its research outcome.
After reading many pieces of advice andknowledge shared from previous researchers, I find these two researchers arevery keen to help their community, Saad (2013) and Jabbour (2012) stronglybelieve the use of ICT can enhance the knowledge of their people and youngergeneration either in educational or cultural advancement. The use of ICTgadgets can assist in many learning ways to engage learners to expand theirlearning environment and self- efficacy. Based on Cornu (2010), he stated thatstrong and strategical plans can be used in place to strengthen the use of ICTin Education industries to help their community. This research paper was doneby Kazan and his research team to find out the coherent between teachers’learning self- efficacy and students’ academic performance towards the use ofICT in the inclusive learning center. Two groups of target audience wereselected, seven science teachers were chosen and segregated into modified groupone with ICT training and group two for non ICT based learning teachers.Researches were carried out in four different schools with lesson observationand modified lesson plans. Data analysis was done using Computer AttitudeSurvey (CAS), Computer Technology Integration Survey (CTI) and Pre-serviceTeacher Technology Integrated Survey (PTTIS) as well as Students AcademicComparison of Exam 1 and 2 in semester 1.
Kazanand his research team have successfully executed their mean and gathered validdata without flaws by proving that teachers with the strong technologicalbackground, positive self-efficacy contributed positively to students’ academicperformance in the inclusive learning center. They strongly advocated thatteachers who went through integrated ICT training who have higher self-efficacycan provide better students’ academic performance compared to those teacherswho were not trained in ICT. Kazan and his team also believe that teachers’confidence level increased and knowledge towards the lesson matters caninfluence better on students’ academic performance directly.
The energy thatthey brought into class makes a lot of difference. Nevertheless, students’participation and motivation in class has increased tremendously compared to thestudents from non ICT trained teachers. However, many considerations were done to ensure the success of this research such asthe new leadership which approved his team to work on ICT integration forscience teachers from four different schools. The school’s management also hascontributed the significant role in this research by allowing more ICT basedactivities to be carried out in their schools to further enrich theconventional teaching methodologies and teaching pedagogies. Furthersuggestions of a mixed measurement of different subjects can be done instead ofscience, they also mentioned that more ICT related knowledge and computeraccessibilities can be done much better in the future to smoothen the ICTtraining process and efficient lesson delivery.Afterreading this research article, I discovered that it has enlightened me on howto analyse my data collection and carry out the right research methodology.Though it was done by school science teachers but I truly believe it can applyto our school and capable of modifying the way we deliver the lesson, especially in more engaging and creative ways.
With ICT integration inacademic, students surely will benefit more and help them to cope with thereality in the learning and working world. It also able to provide more authenticlearning experience without stepping out from the classroom and enable to savemore time to know more on screen and gain more insight of the lesson which onlycan be done indoors. I also feel that the practice can be applied to ourspecial needs learners and their educators to be more aware of their compassionfor learning and contributing to Singapore society. No more time wastage ordowntime in the lesson and every minute will be used wisely and added value toall our special needs students. The matters that came to my thought will be howI can convince our leaders and management team to advocate this success storyand research outcome to prove it is worth investing and the result isultimately impressive.
There are many ground works needed to carry out and I amalone in this field, many trustees and believers have to step in to ensure thisimplementation can do successfully.
